BV TECH took part at the third edition of the International Conference on Electrical, Computer, Communications and Mechatronics Engineering conference (ICECCME) which was held in Tenerife from 19 to 21 July 2023, presenting the results of a scientific research developed within the activities under the Program Contract.

The object of the work was the development of an innovative methodology based on ML/AI technologies for the identification of sequences of critical actions on industrial control systems (ICS) and in particular in the context of complex electrical networks (smart grids), with the aim of providing an early indication of potential malicious activities arising from impairments of the control system.

The activity included as an integral part the development of an advanced modeling system of electricity network, integrated in a special scenario of Cyber Range BV TECH for the testing and validation phase of the results.

The contents and results of the research, carried out by Alessandro Santorsola, Antonio Maci, Piero Delvecchio and Antonio Coscia, are summarized in the document entitled “A Reinforcement-Learning-based Agent to discover Safety-Critical States in Smart Grid Environments” which will be published in the conference proceedings and on IEEE Explore.
