Agi – Cybersecurity: politicians and technicians at Bv Tech Conference
(AGI) – Rome, 6 dic. – “Politics must listen to all the experts in the field, in order to put into practice that leap of quality from the point of view legislative and governance that our country must make”. He said, during the conference dedicated to the security of data and critical infrastructures, organized by BV TECH, at the Nassirya Hall of the Senate, Senator of Italy Viva Enrico Borghi.
The vice president of the FI Senate, Licia Ronzulli, has instead reiterated “the urgency of developing a digital culture of ethics, to enable all citizens to have full confidence in digital services, which often, through distorted use, can be a threat to the whole country”. On the importance of developing a regulatory framework, then spoke Prefect Bruno Frattasi, Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency, emphasizing “the role that AI can play in combating cyber threats is fundamental, provided it invests in expertise and especially in regulatory development”.
Regulatory framework that, in the digital sector, according to the prefect Alessandra Guidi, deputy director of DIS, “today is inadequate and unable to face the challenges ahead”.
After the institutional interventions, the discussion was continued with the founder and Secure Network BV TECH, Alvise Biffi, who stressed “the importance of investing in skills and, above all, to develop a training of new technologies made in Italy aimed at bringing small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions an element of public-private partnershipacademic able to go in the direction indicated by our government to raise the average level of cybersecurity of our productive and industrial fabric”.
The legal issue from the point of view of small and medium-sized enterprises was also discussed with the lawyer Stefano Mele, Partner of Gianni Origoni and head of the department Cybersecurity Space Law, who argued that “In recent years, the ability of businesses to recognise risks has increased, with more than 80% of SMEs now aware of the danger they face.
The problem – he added – is how money is spent to defend themselves. In fact, you often buy antivirus, which unfortunately are not enough. This is why it is important, in addition to raising public awareness on these issues, to create common platforms between the state, business and universities. And the Cyber 4.0 project is just that”.
The Director of the Postal Police, Ivano Gabrielli, has in turn highlighted “the development that in recent years has had the State Police in dealing with digital news, in creating an authority’ able to look at cybersecurity and especially to develop important rules for those who do investigative activity, until recently unthinkable”, also emphasizing “How much more this cannot suffice, since what awaits us is a difficult future, when cyberwar is no longer to be theorized and imagined, We’re seeing it happen. And, in fact, the same crime – he concluded – today is starting to look at the technological assets in a direct way and we will have to find us very soon”.
The laboratory will provide an analysis and testing service for software systems in terms of analysis (static, dynamic, interactive), vulnerability assessment and penetration test.
